The Trophy

The TROPHÉE TOMBWAMA is an annual honorary distinction created in 2023 on the initiative of journalist Aimé Mutombo Muamba, as part of the momentum built around the program RDC Infrastructures et Développement.
The term "TOMBWAMA" means "development" in Lingala. The Trophy was created from the observation that infrastructure is essential to the development of the Democratic Republic of Congo, since it shapes economic activity, social life and, more broadly, the functioning of the country.
Since 2023, it has rewarded the best initiatives carried out by public and private actors involved at various levels of infrastructure projects that impact the DRC's development. It also aims to spark emulation and highlight the skills that concretely contribute to the country's transformation.
Mission
To identify, showcase and reward the women, men, institutions and companies that concretely contribute to the DRC's development through the construction, rehabilitation, financing, design, delivery or support of infrastructure projects.
The Trophy also serves as an annual showcase of the country's development through infrastructure, as well as a space for recognition and emulation.
Vision
The vision of the TROPHÉE TOMBWAMA is to become an annual showcase of the Democratic Republic of Congo's development through infrastructure, by highlighting and celebrating the women, men, institutions and companies that concretely contribute to the country's transformation.
Through this distinction, the Trophy aims to promote a culture of construction, excellence, leadership and collective commitment, so as to make infrastructure a true engine of inclusive growth, job creation, national integration and improved well-being for the population.
